When I was a little boy, I often dreamt about traveling the world on a yacht. Not just any yacht, but the yacht that Puff Daddy was on during the filming of Hypnotized with Notorious BIG. Watch the video on YouTube if you have some time. Suffice to say, twenty odd years later, that dream hasn’t materialized just yet, but I haven’t stopped dreaming. I now spent my time on other dreams and passions.
The truth is I have had many dreams that consist of beautiful imagery. The reason for that dream was to see the world from a different perspective. I’ve always looked at things differently then my peers. I like to think I have a creative eye.
My whole life has been viewed through a lens. When I was in high school, I gained recognition as a top notch TV production guy, creating 30 and 60 second spots that won state competitions. That should have been my calling, but soon after college started, I realized I had more of an act for business than the creative side. I continued to do some freelance work, but my passion evolved to becoming an entrepreneur. And with that, a few businesses formed, a few failed and a few are still on going.
Then there came photography. I have always loved taking pictures. In high school, I bought a Sony 7.1 Megapixel camera long before the industry started selling 10+ Megapixel so cheap. That camera went with me every where. I was the family photographer, the wedding photographer, the nature photographer; I was taking pictures of everything in between. When I traveled to Dubai and Paris, I was right in the mix of things taking my pictures with my Sony camera. Once, the camera broke because I incorrectly used the wrong charger and I spent over $200 to get it fixed instead of buying a new one.
Years went by and I started to think I want to do photography full time. That’s how it all started. I live in Herndon, VA now and I am a photographer.
My passions are with nature photography and black and white wedding photography. I also enjoy taking family pictures, kids photography, animal photography, and just about anything else with vibrant colors and tones.
On my wedding day, while marrying a beautiful woman, I watched my wedding photographer do his work that day (don’t tell my wife). In between the dancing, the smiling, the shaking hands, the walking around, and everything else a wedding day offers, I watched how the wedding photographer operated and what types of pictures he was taking. I watched how he went in between the crowds capturing all of the right shots. That day, I was inspired that photography was what I wanted to do.
I nagged my wife for weeks to allow me to invest thousands of dollars to purchase a high-end camera. Some months later, I started my professional career. Since then, I’ve captured just about everything that can be captured through a 250 mm lens (OK, sometimes it’s through a 50 mm lens and other times it’s through a 500 mm lens. You get the point).
